The following scholarships are awarded to incoming students transferring to michigan state from another college or university. 3 000 or 5 000 depending upon the length of the program.

The excellence scholarship awards 13 000 annually over eight semesters.

Michigan state merit scholarships out of state. Students that are invited to campus as shipman nominees but are not selected for the full shipman scholarship receive a shipman scholarship award of 15 000 year as in state students or 25 000 year as out of state students. Offered to incoming freshmen with international residency status. 90 percentage of out of state students receiving merit aid.
